Identify removable links

Turn the watch over and look at the inside of the bracelet. Not every link is meant to be removed.

✓ The arrows identify the links meant for adjustment.
✓ They also show which way the pin should come out.
Regla fundamental
To remove a pin, always follow the direction of the arrow.
Prepare your workspace

Solo necesitas lo esencial

You do not need professional watchmaking equipment. Prepare a clean surface and have a place to keep the parts you remove.
01
Extractor incluido Permite empujar el pasador de forma progresiva y controlada.
02
Superficie protegida A clean and preferably soft surface helps avoid marks.
03
Keep the parts Keep a small container for the pins and removed links.
Planifica el ajuste

How many links should you remove?

Put the watch on, close the bracelet, and gently pinch the area that still feels loose.

Si dudas entre dos medidas, empieza quitando menos. Siempre puedes realizar un segundo ajuste.

Un proceso reversible

Do you need to add a link back?

You can recover any link you removed by following exactly the reverse process.

MUNIN tip
Do not throw away the removed links. Keep links and their pins together. You can widen the bracelet again when you need to.
Comprueba el resultado

Todo en su sitio.

Wear the watch for a few minutes before making another change. The correct fit should feel stable and comfortable.

✓ The fit is right if...

  • The watch stays stable.
  • You can move your hand normally.
  • You do not feel uncomfortable pressure.
  • El cierre queda razonablemente centrado.
  • No pin should stick out.

× Evita estos errores

  • Empujar en el sentido incorrecto.
  • Utilizar la herramienta desalineada.
  • Seguir forzando cuando algo no encaja.
  • Removing too many links at once.
  • Perder pasadores o piezas retiradas.
MEJOR

NO FORZAR
If the pin does not move, the tool slips, a part is bent, or you do not feel comfortable with the process, it is better to visit a watchmaker.
Dudas frecuentes

Preguntas frecuentes

The most common questions when adjusting a metal bracelet.

Can every link on the bracelet be removed?
No. Work only with links meant for adjustment, identified by arrows on the inside.
What if the pin will not come out?
Check the tool alignment and the direction shown by the arrow again before applying more pressure.
Can I put back a link I removed?
Yes. You can reinstall it by reversing the process. That is why you should always keep the link and its pin.
What if I need to remove an odd number of links?
It is not a problem. If you need to remove three links, for example, you can distribute them 2 + 1 on both sides and then check the clasp position.
How do I know if the watch is too tight?
The watch should stay stable without causing uncomfortable pressure. Wear it for a few minutes and open and close your hand before deciding whether you need to adjust it again.
Should I keep the links I remove?
Yes. Keep the links and their pins together. You may need them later to widen the bracelet again.
Your watch, your fit

A good fit completely changes how your watch feels.

Take your time, keep the removed parts, and remember that checking is always better than forcing.
